Intro
De Balke is the transformation of a heritage Cape Dutch estate into a luxury boutique retreat. We were brought in to visualize the full scope of the restoration — from the reimagined courtyard and pool precinct to the contemporary interiors within the original structures. The renders needed to honor the estate's character while showing investors and stakeholders exactly what the finished product would feel like.

Objective
To produce a comprehensive set of exterior and interior visualizations covering the courtyard, amenities, and accommodation units. The imagery would support investor presentations, planning approvals, and early-stage marketing — giving the project a tangible identity long before construction was complete.

Challenge
Balancing old and new was everything on this project. The Cape Dutch gables, thatched roofing, and whitewashed walls had to read as authentic and heritage-true, while the interiors needed to feel unmistakably contemporary — sage green joinery, SMEG appliances, timber and steel staircases. Every render had to walk the line between restoration and reinvention without losing the soul of the original estate.

Result
A full visual package spanning courtyard exteriors, outdoor amenity areas, and detailed interior views of the accommodation units. The renders gave De Balke a premium visual identity that secured stakeholder confidence and set the tone for the brand — a place where Cape heritage meets modern hospitality.
